This is the music site of Joseph Olschner, stage name Ocean Joe’s Piano. He is in 2026, 76 years old and his piano “adventures”, creations and style of music is a very serious attempt to define himself as he also re-defines the Music….solo piano Music in general.

This site is organized in the following manner:

1. The Band Camp albums is the site where he has posted the accumulated work from 2010 to the present. The music is for sale on the Bandcamp site, not on this one. The link to that collection is here.
2. The Vault is an ambitious attempt to flow the best of his music from the time periods noted. Currently (Sept. 2026), only 2010 and 2015 hold material from those dates. It’s a daunting task. Ocean Joe is a serious composer and technically pianist who has removed most (some) of the social commitments that would demand of him time. Still, addressing such a huge volume of material requires his own dedicated resolve.
3. 2026 Studio is where a visitor will find the most recent recordings. The dates are the file folders on the off site hard drive that hold his efforts to “make music” that is representative of his ability to bring something from nothing…even though the Nothing is and has held all of true spirit of his music, waiting only for a creative spark to create a space that could honor it. This page element is one that he hopes to maintain and find a way to keep it in the public sphere, even though he is not. These recordings are serious, They reflect a dedication that is not recognized in the outside world but not only does Ocean Joe love what he does, he also cannot play like the world expects. More on this later.
4. The next two menu items, Catalogue, Instrumentals and Catalogue, Lyrical Melodies hold written and copy right works. These are Studio recordings that are not necessarily practice sessions but works that have been printed in sheet music form from the website Chordify. Thee are more that I will eventually get around to putting here.
5. Soul Note Inventions represent the spontaneous output of a melody wrapped up in a certain style, key, tempo that I have not designed prior to sitting down and hitting the notes. They cannot be recreated.
