First thing played on this night was an old song that I listened to from a bygone era. I played in many times in 2010-2011, working other the details that never get word to, which is the point I think. One of the best originals is here.
Second up is how I survive. I have this love ability to play from the heart and mind all at once….together…and at peace with both. It comes from a lot of spaces, none more important than the other but all of them lend to hope, confusion, despair and a solo presence that has always held the upper hand. Made up on the spot, as is so many others called by the same name, “Invention.”
I need to tag them all with the space-time indicator, as done here. Please enjoy.
Next up is me trying to form into a solid this progression that came to be known as “For Bill Evans.” Not as inspiring as the first, which is here. It’s still a good place to hide.
Do not know why I named this “Lost Friends” Maybe because there are vacancies that used to be inhabited and I’m the only landlord…or the only one keeping count. “All the people I used to know, they’re an illusion to me now.”
The Notes tell me that I thought this was the best Sugaree I had done…the best until there is one better!
Last up is a three plus two star version of my signature piece.
